I sort of suspected that I might not be able to access Blogspot.com to continue blogging while in Tibet and true enough... Blogspot.com is banned here! The last couple of days I have tried different things - even considered using a differing blogging host but turns out that most of them are inaccessible here. But luckily, after coming back from the Potala Palace today and visiting the Jokhang yesterday, I think obstacles have been dispelled and I found away around the ban. So, I'm back in business now!
We all arrived here in Lhasa safe and sound. A couple of people were not completely jumping around in high spirits the last couple of days but generally I think everyone's doing real well considering the elevation we are at and it is the first time for most of our lungs and hearts! I really do think that taking the train minimized the challenge of having to physically adapt in a matter of a couple of hours (that's how long it would take to fly from Chengdu to Lhasa).
I'll try to post some photos tonight...also, I've changed the settings so that everyone can just post comments without having to get a Google account to do it.

Thanks goodness. I was getting worried with the lack of updates, Hun. Glad to hear everyone is safe and sound and breathing. Oh, the breathing. What a luxury. I remember the closeness of death I felt walking up those stairs at Kyuchu (sp?) Hotel those first couple of days, and how it never went away. Be sure assure everyone that they'll feel like they can run a marathon when they return, effortlessly.
I'm glad things are going well. Can't wait to see pics. I hope you keep blogging throughout the year, especially on your Dharma activities back home.
Oh, and also: tell everyone to drink lots of RedBull®. It's a miracle elixir, even if I wouldn't be caught dead with one here.
: )
I second that. But make sure they drink the Chinese Red Bull, not the American Red Bull...they sell them both.
